Keeping you informed of changes to Victoria's spatial data.
The Victorian Government has committed to an investment to upgrade the digital cadastre, using survey observations, this is a first and is key to ensuring one of Victoria's most important datasets is more accurate, modern and easily accessible.
Registered plans, surveys and abstracts of surveyor’s field notes in combination with aerial imagery will be transformed into digital files during this stage.
Adjustment will ensure data from individual plans are joined and adjusted to an accuracy approaching 0.1m metro and 0.5m rural.
Integration of the updated cadastre into the state’s authoritative mapbase, Vicmap will significantly improve the spatial accuracy of Vicmap products.
This stage involves system development to join DELWP systems and to fully automate the future updating of the Victorian cadastre.
Land Use Victoria continues to provide targeted assistance and information to organisations who act as business custodians providing spatial data to maintain and improve Vicmap products.
