The Victorian Government, through Land Use Victoria, administers a digital representation of the cadastre known as Vicmap™ Property.

This digital dataset represents property boundaries across Victoria. It is widely used across Government, research and commercial organisations. Federal, State and Local Governments rely on digital cadastral data to plan and deliver essential services, hence it is vital the data we use is accurate.

A range of different sectors also rely on accurate cadastral data, including:

  • land and property development
  • emergency management
  • utilities and services
  • asset management
  • natural resource management
  • infrastructure upgrade projects

By 2023, the Digital Cadastre Modernisation Project will provide Victorians with a more spatially accurate digital map of property boundaries.

The project will run over four stages: Back capture, Adjustment, Integration and Automation.
