Engagement includes a broad range of activities across metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria and online. Outcomes of the engagement will inform the strategic direction for future forest management in Victoria, negotiation of the RFAs with the Commonwealth, and reform of Victoria’s regulatory framework and forest management planning.
Outcomes from engagement to date are outlined below, with further information to follow as engagement progresses.
The Future of our Forests online survey commenced on 20th December 2018, and closed on 31st March 2019. Over 2500 people completed the survey. The summary report will be available in coming weeks.
Round tables were hosted with representatives of the Timber Industry, Environmental Groups, Scientific Community, Local Government and Commercial and Recreational User Groups to better understand the range of perspectives on how Victoria’s forests should be managed into the future.
